Meet the Artist
Julie DeFazio
“A painting can hold more than a likeness — it can carry the essence of a person, a flower, or a fleeting moment.”
I'm a self-taught painter whose work explores presence, impermanence, and quiet beauty. After returning to painting while raising my young son, I've embraced a slower creative practice shaped by both motherhood and curiosity.
My work is rooted in the belief that a painting can hold more than a likeness — it can carry the essence of a person, a flower, or a fleeting moment. That is what I chase, one canvas at a time.
